What Are Wisdom Teeth?
Wisdom teeth are the final pair of molars to make an appearance in your gums. When you get these molars, they can come in one of two ways. They will either come in aligned with the rest of your teeth, and cause no issues, or they will come in impacted or misaligned. Unfortunately, most people’s wisdom teeth end up causing issues when they show up. Luckily, you don’t need your wisdom teeth. To prevent oral issues caused by wisdom teeth, we may recommend a tooth extraction.
Several dental conditions may require the extraction (removal) of one or more teeth. The following situations may require a tooth extraction:
- Impacted wisdom teeth
- Tooth decay
- Physical trauma or injury
A tooth extraction can bring immediate and needed pain relief! When you visit Parker Dentistry, you can rest assured knowing that we will take time to explain the treatment so you know what to expect. We will discuss with you why the procedure is necessary, what it will entail, and what will be done following the procedure to help you maintain a healthy, happy smile!
During your treatment consultation, we will also talk with you about your available sedation options because your comfort is very important to us.
